Many have said that Berlin has an excellent public transport system, and I’ve come to agree.
I’ve never had access to public transport this convenient. Here in Berlin, one tram line stops 2-3 blocks from my apartment, and trams come about every five minutes. In comparison, in North Carolina I live five or six blocks from the nearest bus stop, and buses come once every thirty minutes.
In addition to the tram, Berlin has at least two other local train systems: the S-Bahn, higher-speed trains on raised track that ring the city, and the U-Bahn, the underground train system.
