Excel pivot tables tend to order column and row headings alphabetically (A-Z) or reverse alphabetically (Z-A). They can also be ordered easily by another field if you go into the table's settings. But what if you need to create a custom order?
This video shows how to sort an Excel pivot table manually to create whatever custom order you need:
- Click on a row or column label.
- Hover over its edge until the icon changes.
- Click and drag the label to wherever you need it to go.
Use Excel's manual sort method to go beyond typical A-Z and Z-A ordering. Sort your pivot table to create the custom sort order your need.
